Privacy policy

What we collect

Free HD Wallpapers does not ask you to create an account, and we do not store names, email addresses or passwords because we never ask for them. We do not build profiles of individual visitors.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, requested URL and timestamp — for security and troubleshooting. Those logs are the only visitor data we hold.

Cookies and advertising

No we set no advertising cookie until you allow it. When the site opens, a banner asks you to choose: accept, reject or review the categories. Until you decide, the only cookies in use are the strictly necessary ones that remember your choice and keep the site working.

If you accept, Adsterra and its partners can install cookies, local storage entries and tracking pixels to serve advertising, measure how it performs, limit how often you see the same ad and, where you have not objected, show you ads based on your interests. Those scripts are served from Adsterra domains, including bellnewyork.org, nresystems.com and show-sb.com.

Refusing and accepting take the same number of clicks, and refusing does not limit any other part of the site: every image, collection and guide stays available. You can change your decision at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Legal basis, retention and transfers

Free HD Wallpapers is the data controller for everything described on this page. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) for the server logs our hosting provider keeps for security, and consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) for any advertising cookie. You can withdraw that consent at any time; the only consequence is that the advertising stops being served.

We keep the server logs for no more than thirty days, the default retention of the hosting provider. Your cookie choice stays in your own browser until you delete it. We keep no other personal data, because we collect none.

Some of the services involved — our hosting provider and the advertising network — are established outside the European Economic Area. Where your data is transferred, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. The details are in the cookie policy and in the privacy policy of every provider named there.

Third-party content

Photographs on Free HD Wallpapers are sourced from Wikimedia Commons and are hotlinked from our own domain, never from a third-party server. The original source page is always linked, and the licence of each image is displayed on its detail page.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or ask for it to be deleted. Write to us and we will answer within thirty days. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
