Jules Verne by Étienne Carjat vintage wallpaper Full HD

This is Jules Verne by Étienne Carjat, a cold vintage wallpaper built around charcoal and charcoal tones. The frame is composed for 3:4, which is why it reads well on phone without pushing the subject out of shot.

Everything you can see is part of the original file: 1920 × 2724 pixels in JPG (428 KB). Nothing is upscaled, and the colours were sampled straight from the picture, so what you download is what you saw in the grid.

The palette leans towards charcoal and charcoal, and that makes it easy to build an interface around it. A desk that should feel lived in works particularly well here, because the tones never fight with whatever you put in front of them.

How to use it

To use it, download the file, open it on your device and choose the option to set it as the background. If your system crops the edges, use the 3:4 version from the collection or turn the zoom off so the full frame stays visible.

How to make the most of it

• On a phone, place the subject in the upper half so your clock and notification stack do not cover the focal point.
• Pair it with a system accent colour that matches charcoal and charcoal so the wallpaper and the interface read as one design instead of two.
• For a dual-monitor setup, use this one on the screen you read from and a flatter image on the screen you only glance at.

Download options

The file is served at 1920 × 2724 (3:4) in JPG format, so you can print it up to A4 (210 × 297 mm) or use it as a phone background without upscaling. The smaller preview is a separate optimised copy, while the full-size download keeps the original detail.
